Mauritian cyclist Kim Le Court-Pienaar has achieved another major milestone in her rapidly developing international career, winning the 2026 Lloyds Tour of Britain Women and securing her first general classification victory in a stage race.
Riding for AG Insurance-Soudal, Le Court-Pienaar entered the final stage in the green leader's jersey after taking control of the race with a spectacular solo victory on Stage 3 at The Great Orme in North Wales. She successfully defended her overall advantage through the final two stages to claim the title.
Le Court-Pienaar became the first African rider to win the overall Lloyds Tour of Britain Women title. Her achievement adds another historic chapter to the Mauritian cyclist's international career, which already includes winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2025 as the first African rider to win a women's Monument.
The five-stage race ran from August 19 to August 23, with riders competing across challenging terrain in England and Wales. Le Court-Pienaar launched a powerful attack on the steep climb to The Great Orme, immediately putting pressure on the leading riders. She crossed the finish line alone, winning the stage by 14 seconds.
For Mauritius, the achievement is particularly significant because it places a Mauritian cyclist at the centre of another historic moment in African cycling. Her latest victory adds to a career that continues to break new ground on the international stage, inspiring a new generation of Mauritian athletes.
